About KMEFIC
Our History
Kuwait & The Middle East Financial Investment Company “KMEFIC” was incorporated in January 1984 by The Bank of Kuwait and the Middle East (formerly Ahli United Bank and currently Kuwait Finance House) and the Public Institution for Social Security (PIFSS) – Kuwait, as equal shareholders.
In 1987, PIFSS sold its stake to The Bank of Kuwait and the Middle East (currently Kuwait Finance House) to become the main shareholder in KMEFIC. The then Ahli United Bank sold its full stake of 74.33% in September 2019 to Al-Thekair General Trading Co. KMEFIC was listed in the Kuwait Stock Exchange (Boursa Kuwait) in July 1997.
KMEFIC has gained a solid foothold in the market owing to its inherent traits represented by innovation, in line with the global developments that reflect on all its products and services. In this context, KMEFIC is keen to diversify its products and services, which include, but are not limited to, the launch of US REITS, the offering of derivatives on shares listed in the Kuwait Stock Exchange, as well as providing the ability to trade U.S. and Kuwaiti shares through a single electronic platform. We have always identified and introduced unique investment products and services ahead of our peers.
KMEFIC is a pioneer investment Company in Kuwait and has several “firsts” to its credit that includes:
